Tasmanian Equine Veterinary Services (TEVS) aims to provide outstanding care for your horse through dedicated service and client communication. From poor performance investigation through to reproduction we offer a comprehensive veterinary service backed up by a wealth of experience.
We operate primarily as an ambulatory service based near Richmond, Tasmania. We offer practical knowledge and “state of the art” diagnostic equipment that can be brought to your stable door. If you are not within our regular travel area we are still happy to see your horses but ask that you travel them to us. For this reason we have a purpose built facility with enclosed examination area, stables, yards and a mare and foal crush.
Dr Catherine Charlton BVSc (Hons)
Catherine is the founder of TEVS. Graduating from the University of Queensland in 2004 she started out in rural mixed practice but has since been working solely with horses for the past eleven years. Having worked in reproduction, sporthorse and racehorse practices both in Australia and overseas she offers experience, compassion and professionalism when treating your horse. Catherine has worked for large breeding establishments such as Glenlogan Stud, The Irish National Stud and Makybe Stud and has worked for leading trainers such as Freedman Racing. She has looked after Makybe Diva as a brood mare and Protectionist as a Melbourne Cup winner. She prides herself on understanding her clients and what their horses mean to them. Catherine's husband is from Tasmania and they decided to make the move from Victoria in late 2017 to be closer to family and to start up TEVS.
